What a wonderful life I've had! I only wish I'd realized it sooner.

This quote means a lot to me... it makes me think back to before ED and how carefree and happy I was. Now it seems that even though I'm still progressively moving through recovery, I will always have these chains around my ankles of ED... whereas before, my life was FREE... I wish I had recognized that and enjoyed that and kept living a fulfilling and happy life like that before getting involved w/ ED, who will prob. forever control my life... :-(

penny, have you ever thought of letting it go for ONE week...not counting cals, restricting, feeling guilty, etc...for one week and seeing what happens? because not a whole lot of damage could happen in a week

Ahh... I don't know if I could do that! This morning (since I'm leaving tomorrow for 3 days and won't have the opportunity to eat what I want) I decided I can spoil myself today on my last day before leaving. So I had 2 cups of raisin bran crunch along w/ like 4 cups of skim milk and a banana. That's like 800 cals just for bfast. I'm kind of mad. See, when I don't "watch it" I always over do it, and then I feel guilty and then restrict again. That's why to make up for my "breakfast binge" I'm not going to have milk w/ dinner, and no snack before dinner. Ughhhh I hate making these "deals" but it's the only way to keep me in control...!!!!

Penny - I just want to reassure you that 800 calories is not a binge. If you had three 800-calorie meals, that's 2,400 calories. There's nothing wrong with that, especially if you are active during the day. And perhaps if you are not active and that's a big breakfast for you, you won't be as hungry at lunch or later on. I get your point about it triggering you to restict later in the day, but I just want you to understand that 800 calories for a meal isn't extreme at all. It really is okay by "normal" eating standards. I understand your frustration though.

Yeah, I'd definitely feel the same way, Penny. But I agree, Stephani, it's okay to have 800 cals for a meal -- but I know I'd feel really guilty nonetheless.
